Volumes Forge Ahead with New Song and Video, “Pixelate”
Los Angeles-based djenters Volumes have had an extremely eventful last few months, and not in a good way. The band fired perennially loud-mouthed vocalist Gus Farias in December, and less than a month later announced that former vocalist Michael Barr had rejoined the band while Gus’s brother Diego had quit, and they released a new song all in one fell swoop (the band later issued a statement on their member changes). Only a week later, Diego tragically passed away, and the details of his death are still not publicly known.
But onwards and upwards, right? The band is forging ahead, and today they’ve released a new track called “Pixelate” along with a proper music video that they swear was filmed in accordance with social distancing guidelines. The band offered of the track:
“The song is about consuming and ingesting too much social media and news. It’s about the negative influence that these platforms, applications, and publications have on us today.”
Have a look and a listen below. We’re not sure if “Pixelate” will be part of an eventual album, but we’ll keep you posted.
