Fallujah are Working on New Music
I think I speak for Fallujah fans everywhere when I say that the band’s most recent album, Undying Light, didn’t land the way we’d all hoped. The band had a helluva task attempting to follow up The Flesh Prevails and Dreamless, two God-tier progressive death metal albums, but yeah, the latest one really didn’t do it at all. Did the band’s membership changes affect their creative direction? Did they simply get burnt out on “sounding like Fallujah” and extend themselves a bit too far? Did external factors in the band members’ lives impact their ability to write sick riffs?
We can speculate all day, but this much is certain: the band most certainly knows it’s redemption time, and according to a new post on social media they’re already going at it. Have a look at the photo below, in which at least two members (perhaps a third taking the photo?) are pictured working together with the caption, “Album V session.”
At this point I’d wager that a 2020 release is unlikely — even if it were possible, the band would probably wanna wait until they can tour behind it — but perhaps we’ll have something to look forward to in 2021 coming out of quarantine. Or, who knows, maybe they’ll surprise us all and drop a bomb sooner! We all could most certainly use it.
