Megadeth and Midnight Members Collaborate on Bent Sea’s New Track, “Grind to a Halt”
Is “Grind to a Halt,” the latest track from Megadeth (and ex-Soilwork) drummer Dirk Verbeuren’s long-running grind project Bent Sea, a play on words about how the entire world has come to a stop over the past two months?
I can’t understand the lyrics other than the parts where Midnight’s Athenar, who guests on this one, screams the song’s title over and over, but I can tell you this: the one-minute ditty delivers a helluva gut punch of visceral grind, something we all need in the real-life Groundhog Day our lives have become.
Dirk plays guitar and bass in addition to drums on this one. I like the idea of bringing in Athenar, who also typically handles everything himself, for the assist. “Grind to a Halt” comes from Bent Sea’s forthcoming album, Instagrind, which will feature special guests helping Verbeuren throughout.
