In Virtue Release Catchiest Song Ever, “Where the Edges Meet”

I’m really not sure how to classify In Virtue, whose hook-heavy, catchy-as-fuck metal we’ve featured on these pages before. They’ve got a little bit of a prog, some power, a dash of djent, a little trad, a sprinkling of core… about the only things they don’t do are black metal, doom or psych, so if you’re a too-cvlt-for-thou try-hard who thinks those are the only things that make a band worthy of your attention, I’d recommend the back button in your browser.

But for the rest of us, hooooo boy! You’re in for a treat, because “Where the Edges Meet,” which comes along with a video, is sure to work its earworm deeply inside your brain the first time through. Here’s what the band offered on the track and its video:

“‘Where The Edges Meet’ is the place where two worlds diverge – it’s the division between generations, the fault line that separates otherwise kindred souls and creates conflict where there was unity. It’s a time of upheaval and unrest that pits us against each other when really, the only way forward is always together.

“We shot this video on a rooftop in the middle of downtown Los Angeles, long before the Coronavirus struck and forced us all to become isolated recluses – but also to re-evaluate our reliance on each other. The view from up there really highlights both the divisions and the collective spirit of mankind, and provides a refreshing perspective in the face of a dangerous pandemic where we all feel so alone.”

“Where the Edges Meet” comes from the album Age of Legends, which the band hasn’t yet given a release date.
