Exclusive Video Premiere: “Backward Infinite” by Sterileprayer Featuring Oxbow’s Eugene S. Robinson
Don’t let Accepting the New Normal, the just-released album by noise/industrial musician Sterileprayer, fool you: there is nothing normal about the music it contains. As exemplified by “Backward Infinite,” Accepting the New Normal is an exercise in mood and tone that is most certainly not for the adventurous. “Backward Infinite” features a melancholy-yet-foreboding hum plays beneath a spoken word piece by Oxbow’s Eugene S. Robinson, who is, himself, no stranger to out-side-the-box thinking. It is a fertile soundscape for the expansion of the mind, not the soundtrack to your easily-defined emotional catharsis. It’s truly challenging, but it’s worth the extra effort, as repeat listens will reward you with an increasing awareness of haunting new subtleties. Do yourself a favor and put the work in.
MetalSucks is proud to debut the official music video for “Backward Infinite,” which you can check out below. It was directed by Kasia Robinson and Riker Morrow.
Accepting the New Normal is out now on Blackhouse Records Ltd., and can be ordered at this link. In addition to Robinson, it features appearances by Blake Harrison (Pig Destroyer), Phillipe Petit (Man on Wire), Crowhurst, and Slug Christ.
