GosT Unveil Slasher Flick-Inspired Video, “Dreadfully Pious”
I’ll be the first to admit that synthwave had to evolve to remain relevant some five years after the genre’s initial explosion. That said, I definitely had some trouble digesting GosT’s latest release, Valediction. I don’t hate the album by any means, it just didn’t really land with me, it didn’t stick, I haven’t been inspired to go back and listen again and again. Know what I mean?
Even so, I’ll support GosT forever and ever for making some of my favorite music of the past decade, tunes — and memories — that will be seared into my consciousness forever. And, like I said, the new stuff isn’t bad! Here’s a new video for the Valediction track “Dreadfully Pious,” with a few words from the man himself (or I guess they’re presenting as a proper band now?):
“Baalberith makes a brutal return in the video for ‘Dreadfully Pious’. We would like to thank the director Diego González Cruz, cinematographer Andrés F. Morales and producer Pivote and Plot Studio for their absolutely beautiful and violent vision! Warning! This video contains graphically violent imagery. Watch at your own risk,” states GOST about the video.
Watch below, then feel free to tell me I’m an idiot for not loving the album from whence it came in the comments.
