Dool Unveil New Song “Wolf Moon” with Dream-Like Music Video
Dutch heavy metallers Dool are further exploring the depths of the universe on their latest single, “Wolf Moon,” along with a colorful music video that follows the previous single, “Sulphur & Starlight.” Both tracks provide glimpses into Dool’s upcoming record, Summerland, due out this spring.
“Wolf Moon” is as much of a journey as the music video is. The guitars create the perfect aura for the haunting imagery conveyed through vocalist Ryanne van Dorst’s silky voice: “You bore a lifeless child/I buried mine.” The track is melodic, weaving prog-rock’s clamor with an undertone of psych-rock, the chorus providing the perfect build-up that leads to the ultimate catharsis. Meanwhile, the video goes back and forth between scenes of little kids, blood-drenched bodies, and a red landscape of clouds with a kingdom in the background. Dool truly know how to build eccentric worlds.
The band said of the song and music video:
“‘Wolf Moon’ is about alternative realities, created by choice and chance. In the clip, we explore these different realities while at the same time serenading the 90s music videos we grew up with and still very much adore. It was directed by Nina Spiering and shot by Robijn Voshol.”
