Quiet Riot’s Frankie Banali Undergoing More Chemotherapy for Pancreatic Cancer
Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali has returned to the hospital to receive his 12th round of chemotherapy treatment for pancreatic cancer.
Banali revealed in October of last year that he had been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer the previous spring and had been undergoing treatment. At the time he said he was “on the mend” and a month later he appeared on a PSA for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
Banali posted on Facebook this past Friday, February 21, that he was headed to Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center in Woodland Hills, CA for another round of chemo, adding the message “AND SO BEGINS CHEMO #12…. PEDAL TO THE CANCER METAL #fuckcancer! WISHING EVERYONE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!” along with a photo of him in a hospital bed throwing the horns.
Johnny Kelly, of Type O Negative and Danzig fame, has been filling-in for Banali at some recent Quiet Riot shows.
We continue to wish Banali all the best in the long road ahead.
