Exhorder Stream New Song “The Man That Never Was”
The highly-influential Exhorder kick off a North American tour with Overkill and Hydraform next week, and to make sure you don’t forget it, the band has released a new single, “The Man That Never Was.” Originally recorded during sessions for last year’s reunion album, Mourn the Southern Skies, “Man” is lyrically the an anthem about overthrowing those in power (“Even kings and queens have to live in fear”) that feels particularly relevant given our current political situation (“You can fool some people some times, but you can’t fool everybody all the time”); musically, it’s just the kind of kick-ass groove-thrash you expect from these dudes. I mean, the guitar solos made smoke come outta my speakers. So I’d call it an all-around winner.
Crank “The Man That Never Was” at the bottom of this post! The band will be selling a limited edition 7” vinyl at those upcoming shows, featuring both “Man” and a live version of their classic Slaughter in the Vatican track, “Legions of Death,” which was recorded at Brooklyn’s own Saint Vitus.
