These are the 10 Most Streamed Metallica Songs on YouTube
YouTube has begun making certain streaming data publicly available in a weekly chart feature, and while metal has a rough showing overall against today’s streaming pop behemoths, the charts offer the opportunity to search by artist for a breakdown of their most popular songs/videos and the numbers behind them.
When it comes to Metallica, the band has amassed 117 million total worldwide YouTube plays over the past 28 days. More of those streams came from the United States than any other country by far (26.6M vs. 8.81M for the next closest, Mexico) but, interestingly, Santiago, Chile saw the single largest number of streams by city, and only by a slim margin (1.79M vs. 1.76M from Mexico City).
The top ten Metallica songs over the past 28 days are as follows:
- “Nothing Else Matters” – 22.7M
- “Enter Sandman” – 10.2M
- “The Unforgiven” – 8.35M
- “One” – 6.33M
- “Master of Puppets” – 4.71M
- “Nothing Else Matters” – 3.94M
- “For Whom the Bell Tolls” – 2.97M
- “Fade to Black” – 2.65M
- “Whiskey in the Jar” – 2.65M
- “Wherever I May Roam” – 2.52M
It’s unclear why “Nothing Else Matters” appears twice; both entries link to the same iteration of the video.
