Corey Taylor: “I’ve Come so Close to Walking Away From Slipknot”

CRISIS AVERTED: Axl Rosenberg thinks we should all count our lucky stars today, because in a new interview with Kerrang! Radio, Corey Taylor reveals that Corey Taylor has thought about quitting Slipknot before. This would, of course, have been a disaster on par with the Titanic, climate change, and the failure of that one Orgy crowdfunding campaign combined.

“There have been moments where I’ve come so close to walking away from this and I’m really glad that I didn’t to be honest. The payoff has been fantastic, especially now that we’re in this really great place and we are performing at a level that is still top notch.”

Corey Taylor also says that Corey Taylor, along with the other members of Slipknot, thought about “pulling a Sex Pistols” and breaking up after the release of their eponymous 1999 debut:

“Those were real conversations! I feel like we’ve failed everyone by making ‘Iowa.’”

Axl Rosenberg thinks that we should all show appreciation for Corey Taylor thinking he might quit Slipknot but then not quitting Slipknot by going to see Slipknot on one of their many, many upcoming tour dates, which span three continents. Dates for those shows are below!
