Lamb of God Release Lyrics for New Song “Checkmate,” Which May Be Dropping Thursday

So hey, remember how Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton recently revealed that the band’s new album is complete, and that they’d have “new music coming soon”? Well, great news: soon may be as early as this Thursday, February 6.

The news comes via a new message sent out to fans on the LoG e-mail list. The mailer contains handwritten lyrics for a new Lamb of God song, “Checkmate” (below), with the actual physical copy of the lyrics set to be given away as part of a contest. Click on the lyrics and you’re taken to the band’s official website, which includes an extremely timely video backdrop that includes an array of current political figures (Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, Bernie Sanders, Amy Klobuchar, Greta Thunberg, Randy Blythe’s friend Danica Roem, etc.), news clips, and video of the band recording in the studio. But even more notably, it includes an image of a broken clock that bears the date February 6… which is just two days from now (duh).
