WVRM: New Album! New Single!! New Label!!!
There are some groups where I’m like, “If I can get even one or two people into this band, all the writing I have to do about Metallica, Slipknot, and Tool will be worth it.” WVRM are one of those bands. The South Carolina grindcore quartet are Converse Rubber Tracks x MetalSucks alum, and their 2017 EP, Can You Hear the Wind Howl, was so gloriously full of rage that it should have come with free anger management sessions. This band rules.
So I’m DELIGHTED to report that WVRM have now signed with Prosthetic Records! Their first album with the label, Colony Collapse, is set for an April 3 release, and the first single, “My Fucking Dixie (The New South),” suggests it’s gonna be at least as good as, if not better than, Howl. The main riff is at once elastic and sharp, like a rubber band outfitted with straight razors. And as bonus, it has a spectacular loogie hock around :55 second mark. WVRM are great at loogie hocks.
Listen to “My Fucking Dixie (The New South)” below! Then pre-order Colony Collapse here. WVRM also have a buncha live shows with fellow MS faves Ether Coven and Barishi starting tonight. Those are as follows:
