Igorrr’s New Song Is “Very Noise”(y)
The infinitely inventive Igorrr announced his next album, Spirituality and Distortion, back in October… but now, at last, that album has a release date — March 27, on Metal Blade — and a first single — “Very Noise.” That’s not a typo, by the way. The track is called “Very Noise.” Why? I have no idea. If we all understood how Igorrr’s mind works, we wouldn’t need Igorrr now would we?
I do know this: “Very Noise” is very great, and the video, by the French collective known as MeatDept., is 2020’s first contender for Best Video of the Year. I have almost no idea what’s going on in said video, and don’t know if the 30-40 additional views I plan to give it will clarify it at all for me — like I said, Igorrr’s mind works in mysterious, brilliant ways — but every modern music video should aspire to feel this original and engaging.
