Code Orange Announce New Album, Stream First Single

We knew that Code Orange were gonna do something interesting today, and now we know what that something is: the band has announced that they’ll release a new album, Underneath, on March 13 via Roadrunner. They’ve also released the title track, which you can stream below.

I’ll be curious to see how the band’s rabid fanbase responds to the track; in some ways, it’s very typical of Code Orange, but in others, it’s quite atypical. Code Orange have never downplayed their affinity for ’90s grunge/alt-rock, but the hooky-as-hell chorus sounds so much like it’s from that era that I’m surprised it doesn’t come with an introduction by Matt Pinfield. I don’t mean that as a diss! I think this song is great. I hope the fans come along for the ride.
