Ne Obliviscaris Issue Plea for Help with Australian Wildfires

The metal community always comes together in times of need, and that has certainly been the case as the wildfires in Australia — nearly 200 of them affecting an area of land the size of the entire continental U.S., last I checked — have raged on for days and days without an end in sight. The Ghost Inside are holding a fundraiser tomorrow ahead of their performance at the UNIFY festival, and Fit for an Autopsy raised over $6,000 to help restore areas affected by the fires, among some of the efforts we’ve seen so far.

Now some native Australians have chimed in, with prog metallers Ne Obliviscaris offering some words of encouragement to their fellow countryfolk and some suggestions for others on how to help. In a post to Facebook, they kept it quick and to the point:

“For those that are unaware, a lot of Australia is literally being burnt alive. If you’re wanting to know more or interested in helping out in some way, here are a couple of links – also, please post more links in the thread if you find any. Thank you to everyone helping, especially those risking their lives on the front-line.

The situation in Australia right now is absolutely ghastly to the extent I’m having a very difficult time comprehending just how extensive the damage is. We continue to send those affected by the blazes all of our best.
