Iron Maiden: New Album Coming in 2020?

A number of clues have surfaced in recent days indicating that Iron Maiden may have finished recording a new album, leading fans to speculate that the band will release new music in 2020.

Blabbermouth has done a fine job of assembling all those clues, which include:

• A recent social media post by the band’s long-time producer Kevin Shirley, who said that earlier in the year he had been in Paris, France “working very hard on an unnamed but not-very-secret project.”
• Social media evidence gathered by Italian site Maiden Concerts that all six band members and their wives were in Paris as well at the same time earlier this year.
• A photo Shirley posted of Guillaume Tell Studios, where Maiden recorded Brave New World and The Book of Souls.
• Bruce Dickinson telling a crowd in Oakland this past summer that “New Iron Maiden songs [are coming] sooner than you think.”

In addition to the above clues, Maiden last released a new album (The Book of Souls) in 2015. A five-year window between releases is within the typical range for the band.
