Lorna Shore Have Fired Vocalist CJ McCreery Following Abuse Allegations
Update, 12:47pm EST, December 24: Several women have come forward with allegations of abuse against McCreery. You can read those here.
Original Post:
Lorna Shore have fired vocalist CJ McCreery, who joined the band in 2018. The band posted the following abrupt message on Facebook earlier this evening, without any further explanation:
“Effective immediately, CJ McCreery is no longer the vocalist of Lorna Shore.”
A short time earlier, Nicole Garvey, CJ’s ex-girlfriend, retweeted a message she had originally posted on Twitter in April of this year accusing McCreery of emotional abuse and manipulation along with screen shots of their text messages. Garvey said the couple had been together for four and a half years and alleges McCreery began his relationship with her when she was just 17 years old. A short while later she shared a longer piece she had originally written in October accusing McCreery of having sex with her before she turned 18, as well as sexually abusing her and forcing her to film pornography at that age, among other disturbing behavior.
Garvey has continued sharing stories pertaining to her relationship with McCreery on Twitter. She has also reposted tweets and shared private messages from several other women leveling similar complaints against him. You can view a selection of those below (trigger warning: some of it is quite graphic).
Lorna Shore are scheduled to release a new album on January 31, their first for Century Media. At this time it’s unclear what will become of that album.
We will post updates on this story as we receive them.
