Midnight Premiere New Song “Rising Scum”

Every now and then a band releases a song that is somehow simultaneously way heavy and super danceable. Midnight’s new single, “Rising Scum,” is one such song. Musically, it’s quite simple (even the most entry level of guitarists will be able to learn the main riff in a snap), and the drums, which would not be out of place in an ’80s pop-rock song, are front and center in the mix. Like, good luck listening to this whole thing without snapping your hips from side-to-side in time with the beat.

But also, “Rising Scum” sounds capital-E Evil. It would really upset your first grade teacher to see a nice kid like you listening to something as déclassé as this. You had such potential! Where did you go wrong?
