“Cubensis”: New Intronaut Music Is Here at Last!
Intronaut have released a new song today, “Cubensis,” just as they promised they would. New Intronaut music is always an exciting proposition, but it’s especially exciting in light of the fact that this is the first piece of new material the band has released in five years.
The song is almost eight minutes long and I’m literally in the middle of my first listen as I type this, but so far, I love what I’m hearing. Session drummer Alex Rudinger (Whitechapel, The Faceless, etc.) does a characteristically excellent job, there’s some funqqy-ass bass from Joe Lester, and the guitars, by Sacha Dunable and Dave Timnick, sound like they’ve got fire ants scrambling across the fret boards. Shit is rad.
Check out “Cubensis” via the below music video and formulate your own opinion. The track will appear on Intronaut’s new album, which we now know to be called Fluid Existential Inversions. It comes out February 28 on Metal Blade, and can be pre-ordered here. Intronaut go on tour with Cult of Luna and Emma Ruth Rundle in February. Dates and tickets can be found here.
