Killswitch Engage Add Light the Torch to 2020 Tour
Killwitch Engage, aka metal’s hardest working band, have announced that Light the Torch will open their spring 2020 North American tour.
The pairing is notable, of course, because ex-Killswitch vocalist Howard Jones now fronts Light the Torch, who used to be known as Devil You Know before legal issues forced a name change. Not that there’s any bad blood between Jones and his former band — original and current KsE vocalist Jesse Leach and Jones have made it clear they’re on great terms in myriad social media posts over the years, and Jones even sang on a song from Killswitch’s latest album — it’s just a pretty neat thing for them to be doing and for longtime KsE fans to nerd out over. Plus we’ll almost certainly get to see Jones sing with his old band every night.
Light the Torch will open all shows, August Burns Red will play after them, and Killswitch will headline.
Sez Leach:
“We are excited to bring out Light the Torch, first of all, because they are a killer band. Obviously, having Howard out with us allows us to make this a tour to remember. I’ve always respected Howard as a singer, but in recent years, he’s become a friend. So it means more to me now than it would have in the past.
