Clutch’s Neil Fallon Launches Fund-Raising Charity Auction to Benefit the Innocent Lives Foundation
As if Neil Fallon weren’t already your hero, the Clutch frontman has been working with the Innocent Lives Foundation since 2017. The non-profit organization is “committed to helping children by unmasking anonymous online predators and aiding law enforcement to bring them to justice.” How do they do this?
“Through open source intelligence gathering, the ILF create dossiers on possible child exploiters by searching the Internet for information and scouring the dark web for proof. Once evidence is found, the ILF turns the dossiers over to the appropriate law enforcement agencies. In 2019 more than 80 of the dossiers produced by the ILF are being used by law enforcement to track, capture, and apprehend child predators.”
Incredible, right?
Thing is, the ILF is a charitable group that relies solely on donations, and according to their website, each one of these dossiers “costs between $7,500 to upwards of $10,000 to produce.” In other words: they really need everyone’s help to keep doing their amazing work.
To that end, Fallon has now organized an online auction of rock and metal memorabilia to benefit the ILF. Items up for bid include signed guitars from artists such Slipknot, Zakk Wylde, Thursday, My Chemical Romance, and, of course, Clutch; signed posters from the Foo Fighters and Black Label Society; and a limited edition (#21 of 25) black and white photo print of Chris Cornell, courtesy of Andrew Stuart and approved by the Cornell estate.
Says Fallon of the auction:
“No one wants to hear, let alone talk, about the topic of child abuse. We can choose to look away, but the victims don’t have that option. I realised that if I am in a position to help, how could I not? Putting together this auction is an easy thing to do for kids that need our help so desperately.”
The auction is live now and will run through December 7th at 11:59pm EST, so get bidding. If these items are a little out of your price range but you still want to help, you can donate to the ILF here.
Clutch are touring the U.S., the U.K., and Europe in December. Get dates and tickets here.
