It’s an argument as old as time itself: is it pronounced “Necro-FAY-jist” or “Necro-FAH-jist”? “Seh-pull-TOO-rah” or “Seh-PULL-trah”? “Pan-TEH-ruh” or “Pan-trah”? (Just kidding about that last one).

To settle the debate once and for all, we took to the streets of Manhattan outside a recent show headlined by Amon Amarth and Arch Enemy, and we asked the fans themselves: how do you pronounce these bands’ names? From softballs like Amon Amarth and Children of Bodom to perennial tongue-twisters like Allegaeon and Eluveitie and tons more from the depths of metal lore, we put your knowledge to the test. And, to be honest, we’re still not sure what’s correct!
