Watch: Ozzy and Post Malone Perform “Take What You Want” Live
Ozzy Osbourne will be joining Post Malone (along with rapper Travis Scott) for a performance of “Take What You Want,” the song from Posty’s latest album to which the Ozzman lent vocals, at this Sunday night’s American Music Awards, broadcast live on national TV. But attendees of Post’s scheduled tour stop in Los Angeles last night, November 21, were treated to a special preview, as Ozzy surprised fans with a guest appearance for the song.
The crowd, needless to say, went nuts; despite the lack of obvious overlap between Post Malone and Ozzy’s fanbases, Ozzy is a household name thanks to his reality TV years and general celebrity, and “Take You Want” made it into the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Ozzy started the cameo seated on a throne and required Posty’s help to get down onto the stage and… well, honestly, he appears quite limited, still hobbled by his recent injuries. But he was still visibly amped to be there, his first performance in quite a while, and he sounded fine, even if his voice was soaked in the requisite gobs of auto-tune that have become de rigueur for modern pop songs.
Check out fan-filmed footage of the performance at the bottom of this post, and tune into the American Music Awards on Sunday night at 8pm EST / 5pm PST for the real deal.
