Kiss Staged an Ocean Show for Great White Sharks but None Attended
Kiss, never a band to shy away from making a few bucks, recently participated in a PR stunt (for a corporation in the hospitality industry that shall remain nameless) whereby the band performed a set on a boat off Australia’s southern coast. The goal: utilize the low-end frequencies of the band’s music to attract great white sharks, visible to the band’s audience of eight (!) lucky fans through glass-bottomed boats. No sharks showed up, of course — the whole concept seems completely ridiculous, even if it’s the case that sharks are typically attracted to low frequencies (which appears to be true) — but hey, money, publicity stunt, woooo!
You can watch footage of the performance, which took place without Paul Stanley due to illness, via the local TV news report below.
