Ghostmane/ Jesus Piece Show Cancelled Due to “a Safety Issue Driven by an Altercation”
Fans who showed up for last night’s Ghostmane/ Jesus Piece show at The Mohawk in Austin, TX had their evening cut short, with the gig getting shut down after Jesus Piece’s set. The reason? Horus the Astroneer, brother of Ghostmane (their parents must be so proud!) and support act for the concert, reportedly got into “some sort of altercation,” according to Lambgoat. First-hand accounts from the show indicate that Horus “talked shit to” and “threw a temper tantrum about” the venue’s sound guy, leading to a scuffle with venue security and ending in a broken nose for Horus. Others at the show allege that as a result, Ghostemane “threatened to shoot up the venue.”
The venue’s statement on the matter doesn’t get specific, but does make it clear that “a safety issue driven by an altercation and the subsequent escalating aggression inside and outside of our venue.”
The tour is supposed to continue tonight at the House of Blues in Dallas before hitting Phoenix and Los Angeles later this week. Reps for the HOB Dallas were not immediately available for comment at press time. You’ll know more when we do.
