Study Proves People Retain Rock Band Logos Better Than Any Other Genre
An iconic logo goes hand in hand with an iconic band. A compelling and creative mark is one of the most surefire ways for a band to build their identity stand apart from the rest.
TickPick conducted a study with 100 people to see how well they could recall bands’ logos from memory. Unsurprisingly, rock logos reigned supreme as the most memorable with participants most accurately recalling the logos of Nirvana, Kiss, The Rolling Stones, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Some other artists included in the study were Jonas Brothers, Deadmau5, Wu-Tang Clan and BTS.
It goes without saying that being a fan helped in the situation. Participants also ranked their confidence in recreating the logos when they handed them in. People who were fans of the bands whose logos they were asked to draw scored higher when they reported higher levels of confidence. In other words, the more familiarity that they had with a band, the easier the exercise became.
