Corey Taylor Thinks David Draiman Should Perform at the Super Bowl

0

This morning we learned that Disturbed frontman David Draiman would like to sing the national anthem before the Super Bowl, giving metal (or just rock) at least some presence at the coming year’s event. Despite cries from the metal hoi polloi, including Dee Snider, metal — namely Metallica — has once again been denied a spotlight at the halftime show.

But nothing on this good, green planet really matters unless Corey Taylor has validated it, so Draiman must be ecstatic in knowing that he just got a significant boost from The Only Human Who Matters.

Posting on Twitter, Taylor offered the following:

“It’s long overdue for rock and metal to be represented at the Super Bowl. Let’s make our voices heard in support of our brother David Draiman of @Disturbed and let the @nfl know we want him to sing the anthem.”

Draiman, who said he’s been dreaming of singing the anthem at the Super Bowl for his entire life, can rest easy tonight knowing that Taylor supports his childhood goals. Shit, if Corey Taylor ever validated this website I could close up shop and just stop writing for good (our readers and Corey would probably all be very happy about that).

Until that happens, please enjoy this footage of Draiman singing the national anthem for a different country, Israel, at Disturbed’s performance there earlier this year.
