Toothgrinder Grind Teeth with New Song “The Silence of a Sleeping WASP”
First: Toothgrinder’s new single, “The Silence of a Sleeping WASP,” is great, and you should listen to it. It’s considerably more aggro than either of the previously-released songs (“I Am” and “My Favorite Hurt”) from the band’s new album, I Am. So if you were for seem reason worried this record wouldn’t have enough insanity on it, well, you can relax now. The song also has a cool kinda Viking-choir thing going on that I dig, too.
Second: the fact that the word “WASP” is in all-caps like that intrigues me. Do you think the song is about White Anglo-Saxon Protestants? The lyrics don’t really seem to suggest that. Maybe it’s about the band W.A.S.P., whose initials stand for We Are Sexual Perverts? The lyrics don’t really suggest that, either. Maybe it’s just a typo? I dunno. I’m intrigued.
ANYWAY, listen to the song below and see if you can figure it out. I Am comes out October 11 on Spinefarm. Pre-order it here.
