Sunn O))) Unveil New Song About a Very Cold Refrigerator

Life imitates art, which imitates life, which imitates art and so on and so forth. It’s a never-ending cycle, and just like the passage of time, good luck trying to ever fully understand the myriad forces that contribute to cultural artistic phenomena.

For the time being, at least, you can understand this: drone masters Sunn O))) have reached the singularity and become self aware on their latest track, “Frost (C).” Years ago, you see, there was a Sunn O))) parody band called \\Maytag whose sole existence was devoted to goofing on the household appliance-like nature of Sunn O)))’s music, particularly the soothing, drone-like tones of refrigerators. With their latest cold-inspired track (measured in Celsius, naturally, Fahrenheit is for losers!), Sunn O))) are goofing right back at \\Maytag.

Or are they? It’s entirely possibly their humorless nature has now reached Danzig levels of absurdity and they’re blissfully unaware of the whole ///Maytag thing. But I prefer to see the good in people so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Life imitates art… or art imitates life… or art imitates art? Not sure which.
