CTV News Edmonton [via The PRP] reports that a man was stabbed after attending Amon Amarth and Arch Enemy’s show in Edmonton, AB last night, September 30. The stabbing occurred following an altercation between two men near the Edmonton Convention Centre, where the concert had taken place. The cause of the fight is unclear.
The victim, who is in his early 30s and whose identity has not been publicly released, was taken by ambulance to Royal Alexandra Hospital. The condition of the victim is not currently known, although an Edmonton police officer told CTV, “Originally, it wasn’t looking good, but we don’t have an update on the (victim’s) condition.” By midnight, homicide detectives had been called into the hospital, which certainly doesn’t bode well.
Police are currently reviewing security video footage and interviewing witnesses. We will post an update as soon as we have one. Neither Amon Amarth nor Arch Enemy have yet to comment.
