Bassist Shane Embury Sitting out Napalm Death’s Fall Tour

When the grindcore legends Napalm Death kick off a co-headline tour of the U.S. with Municipal Waste this Thursday night, they’ll be doing it without beloved bassist Shane Embury. Why? Dunno. Embury’s statement is pretty vague:

“Due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, I will not be able to grind on the US tour with Sick of It All and Municipal Waste. Driving the bass bulldozer will be Vernon Blake, long-time friend and veteran grindcore/hardcore dealer with his Rigid Records label.”

Yikes. With all due respect to Vernon Blake, it’s hard to imagine Napalm Death with Shane Embury. Hopefully everything is okay and this doesn’t portent some larger issue.
