Insomnium’s New Song + Video: Wonderful, Depressing
Few bands have the ability to play melodic death metal that’s a downright bummer, but Insomnium make it seem easy. It shouldn’t be surprising that the title track from their new album, Heart Like a Grave, is equal parts epic and melancholy — I mean, you wouldn’t expect a song called “Heart Like a Grave” to sound similar to “Rock and Roll All Nite.” But if you really wanna feel like curling up into a ball and dying, watch the accompanying clip. It’s great! It has some beautiful photography. But it’s also sadder than the kid in a Bring Me the Horizon shirt at a Mayhem show.
Heart Like a Grave comes out October 8 on Century Media. Pre-order it here. Get the band’s upcoming European tour dates with The Black Dahlia Murder here and their upcoming North American tour dates with Omnium Gatherum here.
