Voyager Post New Single, “Colors,” Along with Fun, Retro-Inspired Video
“Colours,” the debut single from Voyager’s forthcoming album Colours in the Sun, is a solid step forward for the band. Whereas in the past the band leaned heavily on all manner of djentisms, on this track they’ve stepped outside that comfort zone into a more expansive, well-rounded place somewhere in the more nebulous progosphere. There’s still some of the former, but it lands much harder when it’s not the focus, and the overall song shines brighter, too.
More importantly, how much fun did vocalist/keyboardist Daniel Estrin have rocking the keytar while standing up in that sick ’80s ride in the opening scenes of this video?? All kinds of jealous over here, especially for those hot flip-up lights (R.I.P. my old Honda). The rest of the clip looks gorgeous, too, thanks to DarkSpiritPhotography.
Colours in the Sun comes out on November 1.
