The Agonist Release New Song + Video, “As One We Survive”
If “As One We Survive” is any indication, The Agonist have found a positive outlet for any residual anger from the messy split with their former singer, Alissa White-Gluz (now in Arch Enemy). The crunchy new song was apparently inspired by the band’s ability to persevere during a particularly unpleasant tour, but really, the track is just an all around kick-ass team anthem. Even the structure of the song seems to echo its lyrical theme: it begins as a total rager, full of Swedecore goodness, and then slows for the chorus, as though pulling something cumbersome and refusing to give up.
And then there’s the ninety-second outro, which is just goddamn epic. I could listen to that minute-and-a-half on repeat for an hour.
