Liturgy Also Wrote a Song About God

Whoa. You guise, I am having déjà vu all over again all over again.

First, we got “God of Pussy,” from Hollywood glam stars Steel Panther. Now we have “God of Love” from transcendental black metallers Liturgy. Why, they’re practically the same song! Coincidence?!?! As if people didn’t already constantly confuse Steel Panther and Liturgy!

I’m just joshin’ ya. Other than sharing 66.6% of a title, the Liturgy track and the Steel Panther track have nothing in common. Which is too bad. Liturgy could stand to lighten up a little. Poking fun at Hunter Hunt-Hendrix is like shooting fish in a barrel, but the guy is not untalented. There’s some interesting stuff going on in “God of Love.” Not interesting enough to make me wanna see Triple H’s black metal/trap opera, but interesting enough to listen to at least twice!

You can listen, at least once, below. It’s the band’s first new song since 2015; they’re reportedly debuting more new material at their show in Brooklyn tonight. The aforementioned black metal/trap opera is getting a west coast debut, too, so Liturgy’ll be out that’a ways doing some shows. Dates are at the bottom of this post.
