John Carpenter Announces Expanded Edition of the Halloween 2018 Soundtrack
I may not have enjoyed last year’s Halloween reboot, but I’ll tell you what wasn’t the problem with the movie: the score by John Carpenter, his son Cody, and Daniel A. Davies. That. Shit. Was. TIGHT.
So good news: Carpenter has announced a vinyl, expanded edition of the soundtrack with 24 — twenty-fuckin’-four! — additional tracks. That means this version of the soundtrack will have more than twice as many cuts as the original iteration.

And lest you feel grouchy about being made to double-dip, the packaging is wiqqed: “a lenticular sleeve that makes Michael ‘burn’ when you slide it on and off of the jacket.” Like so:
There’s also a few different versions of the vinyl available in a variety of colors/designs, some of which are limited edition, natch.
You can watch a trailer for updated version of the soundtrack below. It comes out October 18 on Sacred Bones; pre-order it here. The creative team behind Halloween H40 are currently working on back-to-back sequels, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends (yeah right), for release in 2020 and 2021.
