And the New Intronaut Drummer is…
Update, August 30, 9:59am EDT: Intronaut have confirmed Rudinger’s involvement, but only as a drummer on the recording. Cloudkicker’s Ben Sharp is also involved.
Original Post:
… Alex Rudinger! Of Whitechapel / Good Tiger / The Faceless / Threat Signal fame.
Intronaut entered the studio this week to record their new album, the follow-up to The Direction of Last Things (2015). The band teased the arrival of “drummer boy” in a post earlier this week, then briefly showed his face in an Instagram story (screen shot below) early this morning, which fans somehow identified as that of Rudinger. It’s not clear whether Rudinger is a permanent member of the band or just helping out with the album, but either way he should be a more-than-capable replacement; he’s one of the best in the biz.
The Direction of Last Things was a PHENOMENAL entry in the Intronaut canon, and I’m very much amped on hearing what they’re cooking up right now for their new label, Metal Blade. Presumably we’ll hear the results some time in early 2020.
