Did Aura Noir Just Break Up??

Long-running blackened thrash metallers Aura Noir have broken up… we think.

The group posted the following message on Facebook on Saturday night, August 24, after their gig at Kaltenbach Open Air in Austria:

No other posts or communications from the band up until that point indicated that Aura Noir were planning to call it quits, leading to some confusion amongst fans and speculation that perhaps the message was just a drunken rant… and yet it’s still there, in all its mysterious glory, three days later.

Some fans have pointed out in the comments that “last gig” doesn’t necessarily mean “we’re breaking up,” and that is true: the band could continue to record and release music without playing live. But something about the message seems vindictive, angry and, I dunno… final.

While we wait for official word, please enjoy the band’s 2018 release, Aura Noire, which could be their last (but hopefully isn’t!), below.
