Cynic’s Paul Masvidal Releases New Song “Hand to Mouth”
Sometimes it feels like we don’t hear from Paul Masvidal nearly so often as we’d like. Fortunately, it seems like when it rains Masvidal, it pours Masvidal.
Earlier this year, the Cynic frontman released Mythical, the first in a “trio of conceptual mini-records” (some of us know them as “EPs”), Mythical Human Vessel, that “uses ‘Isochronic Tones’ designed by Dr. Stephane Pigeon… a groundbreaking type of sound therapy for increasing serotonin, alleviating depression and stress, improving focus, and aiding in restful sleep.”
Then Masvidal announced that Cynic will be releasing a remixed and remastered edition of 2008’s Traced in Air on September 27.
Now, on top of all of that, Masvidal has revealed that the second installment of that EP trilogy, Human, will come out on October 4. You can check out a track from that EP, “Hand to Mouth,” below. In typical Masvidal fashion, it’s freakin’ beautiful. It also makes me kinda sleepy, so I guess those Isochronic Tones are working. Not for nothing does the name of those tones include the word “chronic.”
Enjoy:
