OMG: Corey Taylor Is Making a Solo Album!!!!!

Stop the presses! STOP THE GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING PRESSES!!! We have Corey Taylor news of such import, of such monumental consequence, that it will surely alter the very lens through which you view the world… nay, the galaxy.

The Slipknot/ Stone Sour vocalist and messianic figure has revealed to SiriusXM’s Eddie Trunk’s Trunk Nation that he is “going to start working on a solo album” and is already “putting a band together.” He also uses the phrase “probably 2021,” but it’s unclear if that means he’ll begin work in earnest on the solo effort in 2021, release it in 2021, or both.

His Holiest of Holies’ complete Scripture is as follows:

“I’m actually giving serious thought to doing a solo album and a solo run. Obviously, it’s not going to happen for a while. I’m actually giving you the exclusive, because I haven’t told anybody that I was going to do that.

“It’s something that I didn’t even consider for a long time until people just kept beating me up about it, asking me when I was going to do it. The more they kept asking, the more I kept thinking about it, and the more I was like, ‘You know what? If I don’t do it now, I’m never going to do it.’

“So, yeah, probably 2021. I’m actually putting a band together. I’ve already told the guys in Stone Sour and Slipknot that I’m doing it, just out of respect.

“I’m going to start working on a solo album. That’s all I’ll give you for now. But, yeah, that’s the plan as of right now.”

This is presumably not the “dark jazz album” of Slipknot and Stone Sour covers Corey teased in January.

Unfortunately, it’s safe to assume that Corey won’t wear a mask for this solo outing. Not that we don’t love his shayna punim, but, y’know… SLIPKNOT MASKS! 

In any case, I’d like to personally thank Corey for pledging to continue to drive traffic to MetalSucks through at least 2021. I’ve got five kids to feed.
