Dudes from Attila Kiss Onstage; Homophobic Fans Freak Out
Attila vocalist Chris Fronzak and guitarist Chris Linck recently kissed onstage. It’s not clear if they were just being provocative for the sake of being provocative, or actually just wanted to share a smooch, or were taking a cue from Rammstein and protesting homophobia… although it would be really nice if it was the latter reason, because Fronzak a history of using homophobic slurs in both interviews and his lyrics, and one good way to begin to make amends would be to demonstrate for his fans that there’s really nothing wrong with two dudes kissing.
In any case, Attila subsequently shared a photo of the kiss on social media, jokingly (I think) teasing a new song called “Kisses for the Boys.” At which point, predictably, a portion of their fanbase lost their goddamn minds, littering the comments section with bigoted invective and declarations of intent to boycott. (In fairness, there are also plenty of encouraging comments as well.)
But Fronzak is no stranger to hate from the Internet! So he seems to be taking the idiocy in stride:
Man, he had me right up until the end there. The final diss seems like a slightly-more articulate version of “Also im not homosexual.” But, y’know. Progress happens slowly. Baby steps, right?
