All of Tool’s Albums are on the Billboard 200 Chart Right Now
Billboard has just posted its Top 200 chart for the week running August 2 through August 8, and Tool fans will be delighted to see ALL of the band’s albums appear not just anywhere on the chart, but in the top 20. The band made their music available online for purchase and streaming for the first time ever on August 2, making for a big splash.
#10: Ænima
#16: Lateralus
#18: 10,000 Days
#19: Undertow
#59: Opiate (EP)
Ænima, which was already triple platinum and is the band’s best selling album to date, sold 33,000 equivalent album units (including streaming) with 18,000 in pure album sales.
The band’s new song, “Fear Inoculum,” meanwhile, has landed at #93 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the first track longer than ten minutes ever to land there with a running time of 10:21, debuting with 3.5 million first week streams in the U.S. and 17,000 downloads. David Bowie’s 9:57-long “Blackstar” previously held the record for longest song to enter the chart, while Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain” (8:55) reached #3 in 1992.
