Hellyeah Post New Country-Metal Song “Perfect”

Hellyeah have released a new single called “Perfect.” It’s the third track to be posted from their forthcoming album Welcome Home, which features Vinnie Paul’s final drum performances, following the title track and “Oh My God.”

I’ve never been much for Hellyeah (like really not at all), but this song hits me the right way. The idea of resonator slide guitar in a metal tune isn’t novel, and Hellyeah have always walked the line between country and metal, but something about the way it’s all executed here works really well. The production tricks are very early ’00s (in a good way), the song construction is pop all the way, and Chad Gray’s vocal performance is strong. Most importantly, it’s catchy!
