Stream Battles’ Funky New Track “Titanium 2 Step”

I’m not sure if I’ve ever come across a more aptly named song in my life. “Titanium 2 Step.” The latest single from abstract rockers Battles loops glitchy technological sounds and synthesizer wackiness with funky riffs and drum patterns. “It’s about chord progressions, resolutions, returning home,” comments the band. “Take that and throw it into a blender of modern electronic tools like glitching devices, or use melodic lines and take them and regurgitate them and pulverise the traditional stuff but at the same time try and retain harmonic relationships while completely smashing them up”.

If you aren’t already familiar with Battles, you might recognize drummer John Stanier from his work with Tomahawk and Helmet.
