Metallica’s S&M² Film: Tickets on Sale Now
The 20-year reprisal of Metallica’s original S&M performance with a symphony orchestra, appropriately dubbed S&M², will see a massive worldwide theatrical release for those unable to attend the real thing. And tickets for those screenings, which will take place in 3,000 theaters worldwide, are on sale now; get those tickets here before they’re all snatched up!
S&M² is set to take place on Friday, September 6th, at the Chase Center in San Francisco and will feature the San Francisco Symphony. A second date was added on September 8th specifically for the band’s fan club members after many of them were locked out of getting tickets for the first one by bots (and perhaps the band’s own management!).
The theatrical release on October 9th will see 3,000 movie theaters all over the world play a film comprised of footage from the shows and behind-the-scenes looks. You can search for a theater near you showing the film at metallica.film, as well as get your tickets in advance.
For a taste of what’s to come, check out some footage below of “No Leaf Clover,” which has become synonymous with S&M, from the original 1999 performance. The new concerts will feature both reprisals of songs performed in 1999 and new arrangements of Metallica music recorded since then.
