The ascent of the metal band shirt as a chic fashion item has resulted in a lot of controversy, with metalheads often pissed off by the suspicion that people wearing these shirts don’t actually listen to the band they are theoretically endorsing. But to what degree is this actually the case?

To find out, Internet supahstah Jared Dines went out into the world, found people wearing various metal band merch items, and asked them if they could name not just one, not just two, but three songs by the group in question. Do the results actually “prove” anything? Probably not. But the video Jared made from his experience sure is entertaining AF!
