The Trailer for the New Star Trek Film Picard Features the NAMM Show!

Star Trek nerds like me were pretty amped to see the trailer for the upcoming Picard film drop at San Diego Comic Con last week. The movie features Patrick Stewart in a reprisal of his legendary role on Star Trek: The Next Generation in what looks a mostly Earth-based story that also somehow involves the Borg. FUCK. YES.

But a certain sub-sect of Star Trek nerd — those who have also attended the annual NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA (which, let’s face it, is like half the convention if all those ponytails and neckbeards are any indication) — will be either elated or horrified to see a very familiar sight in the Picard trailer: the Anaheim Convention Center, where the NAMM Show is held! You’ll see it flash on the screen at the 0:42 mark. Admittedly, that building is quite futuristic looking, although it’s strange seeing it without all the NAMM signage.

Watch below as that one second image brings back all those painful memories of long days on your feet, the dreaded NAMMthrax infection and the sound of 100 Guitar Centers blaring in your ears at once.
