Video: Voivod Perform with Brass Quintet

As promised, this past weekend Voivod and a brass quintet, performed a special rendition of “The End Of Dormancy,” from last year’s The Wake, at the Montréal International Jazz Festival. And while most of us weren’t there to enjoy it, some folks in the crowd filmed it, natch. So now you can enjoy it through the magic of their videos. Huzzah!

The arrangement, written by Voivod guitarist Dan “Chewy” Mongrain, sounds pretty great. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a professional-grade soundboard recording to emerge at some point. I mean… the band has to have documented this event in some way, right? It’s too special to just, like, let it come and go, isn’t it?
