The Contortionist Share New Song + Video; EP Coming in August
“New music from The Contortionist? OH NO! That’s horrible news!!!” said no one ever. So let’s all celebrate the announcement that the band will release a new EP, Our Bones, on August 9 via Entertainment One / Good Fight Music. Here’s the cover art…
…which, incidentally, is a perfect representation of the general vibe of the EP’s lead single, “Early Grave”: a dark and curled-up flower shielding a burst of beautiful color. It’s melancholic but hopeful, bleak but beautiful. Appropriately, the band calls the song “an expression of gratitude to the fans who’ve shared their stories of heartbreak, loneliness, and depression, and found new strength in the music of The Contortionist,” which also gives the chorus some extra emotional bite:
I know it feels like you’re drowning these days
And I know you question if it’s too late
And our only hope is that you choose to stay
